Photograph caption dated March 14, 1987 reads, "The wife and daughters of Dave Ketchum embrace as team of helicopters performs flying salute to the Costa Mesa police pilot killed Monday night in midair crash of two law-enforcement choppers. Meg Ketchum and daughters Penny, left, and Hillary were joined by 2,500 mourners who paid tribute to Ketchum and fellow officer Mike Libolt. The two officers, along with a civilian flight instructor, died pursuing a stolen car."
