Description
Original photograph has several stains on the bottom half of the picture.
Photograph caption dated March 3, 1954 reads "Victims are removed from balcony by special squad using equipment from Los Angeles City Civil Defense rescue truck. Victims were bandaged, lowered in special rope hoist and aluminum stretcher, and whisked to medical collection station." This civil defense drill took place at El Rey Hotel on Maclay Street in San Fernando.; See images #00136333 through #00136334 and #00136339 for all photos in this series.
