Description
Al Kasha and Joel Hirschhorn discuss their book, “Reaching the Morning After.” They begin by explaining that their book is an autobiographical account of their lives, and their success from writing the Academy Award winning song, “The Morning After.” Kasha talks about his childhood growing up with abusive parents. He talks about his early life and success as a child actor and performer. Hirschhorn describes how the two met and became song-writing partners. They talk about how “The Morning After” was written for the 1972 blockbuster The Poseidon Adventure. They end the interview by playing several of their Oscar award winning hits. Interview was recorded in December 1985, but not broadcast until 1986.
