Description
Male workers in hats stand among fruit processing machinery. Filled cans of fruit appear to be in the process of cooking and sealing. Stamped on wooden crates: "To be returned, property of American Can Co." Poster reads: "Libby's E.B.A. Organized January 1918. Sick and accident cases to date: 3880; Benefits paid: $131,553.21; Deaths to date: 180; Benefits paid: $112,671.98; Total membership, January 1, 1928: 3196. Employees are invited to join." Libby's was Libby, McNeill and Libby Cannery, whose fruit processing operations were located in Sunnyvale, California.
