Description
Photograph of a retouched photo of Main Street looking North from Fifth Street, 1905. Two cable cars can be seen moving along the left side of the unpaved street between the gauntlet of two- to five-story commercial buildings, along with horse-drawn carriages which can be seen farther back. To the right, a woman in a lightly-colored dress whose face has been retouched with paint, makes her way across the road to the buildings at the left. To the right, four men in suits -- two of which have retouched faces -- stand on the sidewalk by a lamp post in front of the other stretch of buildings. A web of streetcar cables hangs across the street between them. Legible signs from left to right include: "Arcade Depot, 112", "[...] Bros. [Furnit]ure", "Serve Day A 20 cents", "B. Lebrandt, Contractor", "Ice Cream Sodas", "The [...]burto [...] Box", and "Restaurant".
