This adobe, built around 1839 on Rancho San Pascual, belonged to General Jose Maria Flores, provisional governor of California and leader of the Mexican Army of California during the Mexican War. It was here that Gen. Flores took refuge in January of 1847 before fleeing to Mexico and prior to the time his troops were surrendered to Stockton and Kearny. The actual address of this adobe is 1804 Foothill Street.
