Description
Tony Guerra reports from the 2nd annual Union City lowrider hop, August 1980. At around 1:30, tape changes to televised boxing match, then switches to footage of an unidentified community meeting conducted in Spanish. Barrio Expressions was a community access television show documenting Chicanx and Latinx life in the East San Francisco Bay Area. It ran on Hayward cable television from 1976-1985. While the shows were filmed primarily in the Hayward area, they include stories from around the East Bay and San Jose. The show aired weekly, with 26 episodes per year. U.C.
