Photograph caption dated January 23, 1957 reads, "Duties of pound varied - Some member of animal kingdom is always causing excitement for personnel of Valley animal shelters. Shown above is sequence of pictures in recent deer chase conducted by Burbank poundmen. First shot shows two-year-old buck as he bolts from hiding place in Mormon churchyard on Sunset Canyon drive. Second picture shows deer as he makes break for freedom and takes off down busy Olive avenue. Trained poundsmen, Bill Crause and Joe Damico with skill of Western cowboy and stalking ability of hunters, finally corral wayward buck and tie him up for return trip to hills. Last picture shows Joe Damico turning deer loose deep in Burbank hills after animal's harrowing brush with civilization. They caught this deer twice in 10 days.
