Description
Pacific Electric Railway streetcar no. 655 and another car behind it, on Ocean Avenue in Santa Monica, California. The sign on the front of the car says "Los Angeles."
This is a copy negative (a photograph of another photograph). "Pacific Electric car on Ocean Ave., Santa Monica" is a note from Ernest Marquez written on envelope as it was received. Title based on note from Ernest Marquez; date devised by cataloger based on streetcar design from similar items in the collection. The Pacific Electric Railway system of electric streetcars and rail was also known as the Red Car system.
