Photograph caption dated June 16, 1964 reads, "Miss California contestant Vicki Hawks, left, of Arleta, helps current Miss California, Francine Herack, Reseda, touch up her make-up. Eighteen-year-old Miss Herack will compete for the title in ceremonies Friday. Winner will compete in the Miss Universe Contest to be held in Miami Beach, Fla."
