Photographic portrait of General Winfield Scott Hancock, [s.d.]. General Hancock is shown standing from his knees to his head and is turned to the right. His right hand can be seen stuck in his coat Napoleon-style. He is wearing a long, double-breasted military jacket with a single-starred shoulder insignia indicating the rank of brigadier general. He has short dark hair parted at left and a dark goatee and mustache. Hancock served in the Union Army during the Civil War, distinguished himself at Gettysburg, and ran unsuccessfully for president in 1880.
