Sgt. Donald Cardella, 22, and his wife Sophia, 20, hold the first born of their triplet sons. Kirk, born March 6, weighed 4 pounds 8 ozs. Their father, a radio teletype operator for the armed forces in Korea, received special permission from the military for this trip home; the Red Cross assisted. The two remaining sons are gaining strength in the hospital. Photograph dated March 13, 1971.
