Republican mural, Oldpark Road, Oldpark, North Belfast, 2001. Hunger Strike memorial, depicting the Maze/Long Kesh Prison, with H-Block prison compound, two blanketmen, a lark entangled in barbed wire, and black and white reproductions of the ten dead Hunger Strikers (from left, Kevin Lynch, Patsy O'Hara, Kieran Doherty, Thomas McElwee, Bobby Sands, Francis Hughes, Raymond McCreesh, Martin Hurson, Mickey Devine, Joe McDonnell); 'No Greater Love…' (Biblical quote - 'Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends'" [John 15:13]). Shields of the four provinces of Ireland are included in the Celtic surround - two shown here, Ulster (above) and Munster (below).
