Title supplied by cataloger. Photographer's caption reads, "The initial Carthay Circle development plan called for the primary residences to be one-story buildings with no flat roofs. The predominate architecture was Spanish Colonial, with Tudor, American Colonial, and French Revival styles also present. In 1998 the Carthay Circle was declared an Historic Preservation Overlay Zone to preserve the architecturally distinctive buildings, most of which had remained unchanged. Just before its approval, this owner built a two-story, flat-roofed, Moorish "Revival Castle.""
