Photograph of an artesian well at an old adobe panel ranch house, South Pasadena, ca.1884-1886. Water flows up out of a pipe in the center of a round cement cistern two- to three-feet high. The porch and 2nd-story balcony of the dwelling is visible at left. Large old trees dot the yard. A wire mesh and wood post fence runs across at back.
