Description
View of the entrance of the second building of the San Pedro Branch Library, located at 820 S. Beacon St. In 1922, the City of Los Angeles ordered Beacon St. to be lowered by 14ft., requiring that the library be lowered as well. It appears that this image was taken either before or after the lowering occurred. The cement steps leading to the entrance have been replaced by a wooden ramp, which some people are using to enter the building and large wooden planks are visible on the left side.
