Description
David Starkey discusses his biography, “Six Wives.” He begins by explaining the history of Great Britain’s king Henry VIII, and talks about how his book is being turned into a television film. Starkey begins by talking about Henry VIII’s first wife Catherine of Aragon, who was Queen Mary’s mother. After many years of marriage Henry converts to Protestantism so he can divorce Catherine. Starkey describes Henry VIII’s love affair with Ann Boleyn, their daughter Queen Elizabeth, and Boleyn’s eventual execution. Starkey discusses Henry VIII’s other wives: Jane Seymour, Anne of Cleves, Catherine Howard, and Catherine Parr.
