Description
Photograph snipe dated October 13, 1951 reads: “‘Is the Mexican diet adequate?’ asks the California Health Department. ‘Yes,’ says Councilman E. R. Roybal, first Councilman of Mexican descent in more than 70 years. To prove it, he is sending them a tasty open face taco. Tostadas have more health-giving qualities than the American counterpart of cokes, hamburgers and potato chips, according to Roybal.” Written on the verso in pencil is “model – Eva Battaglia.”
