Description
9 negatives in envelope labeled, "Amelia Earhart, June 7, 1931, Autographs." These photos were taken during Earhart's surprise visit to San Jose Airport in her Pitcairn autogyro, or "flying windmill," part of her Beech-Nut sponsored national tour. She posed with William T. Cox, manager of the local Beech-Nut plant. The photos were printed in the June 8th edition of The Evening News, with the photo credit Frank and Ed Gordon, Lomar Engraving Service.
