Description
This circa-1930 photograph captures four female polo players posing with their horses. The woman on the far right is Barbara Worth, who made a legendary name for herself in California riding circles, performing in her first California State Fair at the age of 8, while being named 1962's Horse Showman of the Year, a national honor conferred by the American Horse Show Association. She operated the Barbara Worth Stables at 3400 Del Paso Road for several years. The Nicolaus, Sutter County, native died in Elk Grove in 1997.
