Photograph article dated February 8, 1963 partially reads, "Los Angeles Valley College Thursday will complete the third phase of its multimillion-dollar construction program with the dedication of five new buildings costing $2.7 million. On Friday, the fourth and final phase of the college's master building plan will begin with the granting of a contract for an estimated $800,000 worth of additional buildings. As one of the Los Angeles City Board of Education's seven two-year junior colleges, Valley College's growth has been both explosive and spectacular. Begun in 1949 on land adjacent to Van Nuys High School, the college's purpose was - as it is now - to prepare students for four-year colleges and the training of those wishing only to receive a two-year college education." Pictured is an unidentified Valley College student in the new Life Science Building.; See images #00122757 through #00122766 for all photos in this series.
