Photograph of "Wedding of the rails", a re-enactment of the ceremony celebrating the connection of Los Angeles and San Francisco by the Southern Pacific Railroad, showing two men and a woman in costume, 1926. The woman stands at center in a large, western dress with feathers in her hair and a small, darkly-colored umbrella over her shoulder. Her dress has frills down the center and on the cuffs of he sleeves. She holds her lightly-colored gloves in her hand along with her purse. The men at either side of her each wear dark suits with lightly-colored shirts and long jackets. They each wear a top hat and bow tie and hold canes in their right hands. The rest of the crowd can be seen in the background.
