Photograph caption dated January 18, 1961 reads, "Valley Parents Without Partners members, Mildred Saxs of Encino, from left, Helen Gardner and Bea Schwartz of Sherman Oaks, and Sam Friedland of North Hollywood, relax after the club's monthly business meeting to share ideas, new plans and progress concerning their mutual problem of raising children alone.
