Description
This 1952 view of 15th and K streets shows Chargin's Automart at 1531 K St. and the Stop-N-shop Market at 1330 16th St. Founded in 1931, Chargin's ran an ad in a 1947 issue of the Sacramento Bee claiming "The car is blue, the grass is green, this gorgeous convertible is very clean...Lovely to look at, better to drive, feel 10 years younger, really more alive." Of special interest are the highway directional signs on the corner.
