View of North San Pedro Street in downtown Los Angeles, from about the intersection with Commercial Street, with a policeman standing on the left. At right are signs for the Union Hardware and Metal Company (located at 214-216 North Los Angeles Street in the 1905 Los Angeles City Directory); an automobile, with no front windshield, is on the street in the distance. Additional visible signs read: "Importers and dealers in Cumberland Coal," "Whiskey," and "Japanese [?] House. Furnished Rooms."
Title devised by cataloger. Date range approximated by cataloger based on history of building; Union Hardware moved from Los Angeles Street in 1906, according to Los Angeles City directories. Similar images of San Pedro Street in the same vicinity can be seen in the related items.
