Description
Photograph of a mock surgery in a tent field hospital for the World War I Allied War Exposition in Los Angeles, August 1-10, 1918. A man lies atop a stretcher as a team of three physicians loom over him, administering different medical procedures on his prone body. The scene transpires within a tent, held up by a tall wooden pole that sprouts from the wooden floor at center. Medical supplies line the sides of the tent, and a chair with rolls of gauze sits at right.
