Holy Family Catholic Church was founded in 1929 and is located at 1011 East "L" Street and the corner of Sanford Ave. in the city of Wilmington.; "Nuestra Sen~ora de Guadalupe", or "La Virgen Morena" (The brown-skinned Virgin) is a 16th century Roman Catholic Mexican icon depicting an apparition of the Virgin Mary. She is Mexico's most beloved religious and cultural image. In Christianity, candles were, and are, commonly used to burn before shrines towards which the faithful wish to show special devotion. Worshipers may light a candle in front of icons as an accompaniment to prayer. Photo dated: September 2007.
