Photograph of a United States land grant to Henry Dalton, signed by Frank Cowan in May 30, 1867. In this document, Frank Cowan, Secretary, General Land Office of the United States for President Andrew Johnson grants a title to a plot of California land called San Francisquito to Henry Dalton. The words "San Franrisquito" stand bold and among a whirl of embellishments, and "The United States of America" stands proud beneath it. In the center of the document sits the name "Henry Dalton" in large print as well. The rest of the document is composed of smaller script.
