Description
Commonly referred to as a "foxtail" agave, due to the appearance of the flower stem (inflorescence) which Hertrich is here supporting. William Hertrich was Superintendent of Botanical from 1927 to 1949. The label that accompanies this photo in the album reads "Agave attenuata."
