Exterior view of the Lompoc Theater, located at 112 1/2 North H Street in downtown Lompoc. From this street view, a Christian Science Reading Room is also visible. The theater, constructed in 1927 by the Lompoc Knights of Pythias, originally hosted traveling vaudeville, local dramatic productions and movies. Theater was remodeled in 1955 in which a new marquee, new seating and expanded lobby were added. A new bathroom configuration eliminated stairs to former "crying room" and projection booth; upstairs access is now made via outside stairway. Lobby did not originally include a snack bar or ticket booth, which was in the center of outside foyer. After the remodel, the ticket booth was placed to the side, accessible through the newly expanded lobby and snack bar. A CinemaScope screen was also added in remodel. In 2006, the Lompoc Housing and Community Development Corporation began restoration plans.
