Photograph caption date stamped April 6, 1961 partially reads, "Cleveland and San Fernando High Schools take another step toward their respective West and East Valley League track and field dual meet championship tomorrow afternoon at 3 p.m... The pole vaulting 'feud' between Cleveland's Dave Baumsteiger and Canoga's Rick Rupe continues tomorrow. Baumsteiger whipped Rupe in the Canoga Park Relays and has a best of 12 ft. 10 in., while Rupe is battling 12 ft. 6 in." Photograph caption reads, "Dave Baumsteiger... Clevelander vaults."
