View of a street with 5 story building dominating photo on the right; on ground floor awnings reach out beyond the windows; above are rectangular windows on floors 2, 3 and 4 with round-arched windows on 5th floor; about 3 businesses down is another large building; on left side the buildings are lower and 2 story structures; 1/3rd down the street is a horizontal sign advertising "Bicycles"; in distance is building with a cone-shaped roof and at end is a tower with a dome, topped by a lantern.
Walter Hepting was born in Sacramento (father was from Switzerland, mother from Germany). Worked for the State Treasurer's Office. Was amateur historian, collected old photographs and images of Sacramento.
