Description
Several rows of wooden drying racks filled with fruit are laid out on the ground in Pasadena, California. Groups of men and women stand in and among the racks, a tent has been pitched in the center. Two horse-drawn carts stand to the right next to stacks of more drying racks.
Title and date transcribed from back of photo-mount. Printed on bottom of photo-mount: "Jarvis / Pasadena, Cal." Label affixed to back of photo-mount reads: "Corner Mountain and Fair Oaks. Handy to the ranches. Fruit dryer." Handwritten on back: "Run by Mr. Lloyd of Marshalltown. Photo 1886"
