Located at 5269 Lankershim Boulevard in North Hollywood, the theater was designed by Lewis A. Smith and is a Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument.
Pictured is a gentleman identified as Guy Wood, the first projectionist at El Portal Theatre. Here, he can be seen tinkering with an enormous projector. Photograph dated December 21, 1950.
