Description
The photo caption printed in the Sacramento Bee on October 4, 1972 states: "Wheel Restoration -- Restoration of the last two Kennedy Mine Tailing Wheels in Jackson is under way . . . and not a moment too soon. Construction crews found a bearing block on Wheel No. 4 had split, and engineers said it split during the last two weeks. Crewmen are seen here replacing the block with a similar wooden support measuring 10 feet long and weighing 850 pounds."
