Description
263 East Blithedale Avenue, Mill Valley. Built by a Portuguese family (possibly Machado) around 1900 on this lot purchased from the Varneys. After 1918 it was occupied by Tony Varney and his wife Elsie. nee Locey. of a family living on Lovell. From the 1983 Mill Valley History Walk: "Houses built around this time tended to be simple carpenter Gothic design, of frame construction, finished with plank sliding."
