Description
Initially conceived as a year-end report for the personnel of the base, the Headquarters Sacramento Air Materiel Area, McClellan Air Force Base published this booklet to tell the story of McClellan Air Force Base. Created under the Sacramento Chamber of Commerce and the efforts of their Secretary Manager Arthur K. Dudley in 1936 the base was known as the Sacramento Air Depot. The name changed to what it is now in honor of Major Hezekiah McClellan. Now in 1950, the base is the third largest Air Force supply and maintenance base in the nation. Apart from the history of the base the booklet also includes information about the personnel, activities carried out, and offices that maintain the base running efficiently.
