Photograph caption dated April 16, 1957 reads, "Warrant officer John Allott climbs into airplane at Whiteman Airpark in Pacoima with Lt. M.A. Buker, observer, as Capt. Howard Faye stands by with ambulance waiting to learn fate of missing pilot believed down in Santa Monica Mountains. Sixteen planes joined in all-out search today. Search has cost lives of two sheriff's deputies whose plane crashed in Malibu area."
