Downs discusses his early exposure to “The University of Chicago Roundtable.” He goes on to share his experiences of meeting several major figures in American politics and culture, including but not limited to, Martin Luther King, Jr., President Kennedy, and President Nixon. He also shares his opinions on the future of television and its role in politics. Towards the end of the interview, Downs discusses his thoughts on solar power.
