KCRA News film footage of various events surrounding the Firehouse Restaurant, which was opened in 1960 by brothers Carl, Lawrence S., and Newton A. Cope, Jr. Scenes inside the restaurant with Carl Cope c. 1970; Carl Cope's funeral July 8, 1980; Coverage of a fire at the restaurant on July 22, 1970; and Carl Cope speaking at the announcement about theinstallation of a statues commemorating the Pony Express in Old Sacramento on April 4, 1973. The Firehouse Restaurant is located in Old Sacramento, and was opened in 1960 by a local family. The renovation of the old firehouse into the Firehouse Restaurant was the first such conversion in the Old Sacramento Historic District.
