Description: Interview of Dr. John Alexander Somerville and his wife Vada Somerville, by Robert Knutson, 1968 June 7. John Somerville was the first black graduate from the University of Southern California (the Dental School) in 1907. His wife, Vada, graduated from the USC Dental School in 1918.
