Description: Former heavyweight boxing champ Joe Louis, actress Jane Russel, ex-UCLA and professional football star Kenny Washington, and Mrs. Ernest E. Debs introduce some of the neary 100 Negro babies who are seeking adoptive parents. County has launched a "Negro Adoption Week" drive. Miss Russell and Mrs. Debs are members of the Advisory Commission on Adoptions. Photo dated: October 18, 1961.
