Photograph caption dated February 5, 1958 reads "'Copter drops pole to waiting members of juvenile camp crew, lower right, who secure them to ground. Use of helicopter eliminated need to hand carry poles into country too rough for trucks. Important phone line connects Los Angeles County Fire Department stations in Newhall with Oat Mountain and Malibu stations and also serves as trunk line to Los Angeles."
