Photograph caption dated October 6, 1963 reads, ""Interviewing An Idle Yankee. Roger Maris describes injury to newsmen"" Notation written on the verso, reads Roger Maris not playing attends series."" Maris, right fielder for the New York Yankees, is pictured in the visiting team clubhouse at Dodger Stadium during the 1963 World Series. He had been injured in Game 2 of the series which rendered him unable to play in the rest of the series. The Dodgers would sweep the Yankees in four games to win the series.
