Description
"Wa Ying Girls' School, (Fatshan) in Hong Kong. Classrooms of primary school used as dormitories at night, showing bedding and luggage stored at back of room."
Fatshan, [now Foshan] a large industrial city in the South China close to Canton [now Guangzhou], was the most important mission in the district, with a large mission hospital, Haigh College and a girls' boarding school in addition to several churches. Frank Evison served the Methodist Missionary Society in South China from 1937 to 1949. In 1957 he continued his work for the society in Hong Kong until 1971.
