Description
Photograph was edited for publication purposes.
Photograph article dated January 18, 1963 partially reads, "It is possible to predict with some degree of accuracy that the major league baseball clubs will be opening their spring training camps very shortly... The Los Angeles Angels conducted the first of these quaint ceremonies Thursday morning at their executive suite in Hollywood. Not too surprisingly, the signee was Leon Wagner, one of the more accomplished long ball hitters in the American League. Just by chance, he happens to be one of the most refreshing, most original public speakers in baseball." Photograph caption reads, "Leon Wagner - Wears Autry's hat."
