Description
Sacramento's Plaza Park, as viewed from the southeast, is the subject of this circa 1910 postcard. In the center of the frame is the park's fountain Long seen as stylistically outmoded and an eyesore to many, it was replaced in 1909 by a vote of the Sacramento City Board. By 1927, Robert Stackpole's Coleman Memorial Fountain would occupy the spot.
