Description
Exterior and interior views of United Artists Theater located on South Broadway. Architect: Walker and Eisen.

1992-2599 (102-3). Gothic cathedral style architecture features intricately carved ornamentation on staircase, walls, and ceiling. A large chandeliar hangs from arched ceiling. Advertisement for Gloria Swanson Movie -- 1992-2600 (102-10). Gothic cathedral style architecture featuring large arched decorative ceiling with chandelier -- 1992-2601 (102-14). Hallway features curtained doorways on both sides, decorative ceiling, and gothic style furniture and light fixtures -- 1992-2602 (102-15). 1992-2604 (102-27). Gothic style architecture featuring heavy columns framing decorative arched windows -- 1992-2605 (102-30). Side of lobby decorated in gothic cathedral style with decorative coulmns, arched window and ceiling and gothic style furniture and light fixtures -- 1992-2606 (156-111B). Gothic style architecture features carved stone figures and ornamental arched windows above decorative marquee advertising "My Best Girl" with Mary Pickford.
Constructed in Spanish-Gothic style by firm of Walker & Percy Eisen, architect, C. Howard Crane. Built by Mary Pickford, Charlie Chaplin, D.W. Griffith and Douglas Fairbanks. Interior designed by Anthony B. Heinsbergen. Ceiling painted to resemble stained glass. On side walls are murals painted by Heinsbergen.
