Photograph of a hole broken into the vault or wine cellar of Mission San Antonio de Padua, California, ca.1906. Viewed from the outside, the hole pierces the arched brick ceiling. Low vegetation grows all around the hole up to the ruins of the walls of the mission over the subterrenean chamber.
