Description
This postcard depicts Aldebaran Canal, one of the canals built by Abbot Kinney in 1905 in Venice, California to replicated the feeling of Venice, Italy in Southern California. Complete with Venetian style buildings and gondolas (as seen here), Kinney's Venice of America opened on July 4, 1905. Postmarked 1913-11-14. Addressed to: Mrs. Buckland, Huntington Ave, in Boston, Massachusetts. Postmarked at the Back Bay Station.
